Novak Djokovic – Vegan or Not?

Clearly one of the greatest tennis players of all time and currently ranked world No.1 in men’s singles tennis by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), sanding alone at the top of the list with an all-time record of 30 Masters 1000 series titles plus 12 Grand Slam singles titles, six Australian Open titles, and only the third man to hold all four major titles in one year – the first man to do so in more than 45 years, Novak Djokovic is the favorite to win the upcoming US Open, and he might just be a vegan, depending on who you listen to.

This past week, PETA.org wrote that Djokovic IS a vegan, having stopped eating meat a year ago, and having gone so far with his new lifestyle to have opened his own vegan restaurant, Eqvita, in Monte Carlo. Peta.org describes Eqvita has featuring a “nature-centric” cuisine”, serving such dishes as raw lasagna and a protein bowl that includes “chickpeas, broccoli, mushrooms, green tahini sauce and chef’s special candied carrots”.
